Meet Bo Hess, one of Asheville’s six Councilmembers

"Thank you, Asheville! Together, we have made history. I’m so honored to step into this role with your trust and support. My heart is full of gratitude.
As we celebrate, I also recognize that some may feel uncertain or fearful about the future. To you, I say: please hold onto hope. Now is the time for us to unite, to listen deeply, and to lift one another up. By staying open, connected, and resilient, we can build a brighter, more inclusive Asheville.
There’s much to do, from expanding affordable housing and addressing mental health needs to strengthening our greenways and rebuilding after Hurricane Helene. Together, we can turn these goals into reality.
I am here to work tirelessly for this community. Thank you for your incredible support, and know I’m committed to serving Asheville with empathy, resilience, and hope. When we show up, we get it done!"

Asheville Strong

Hurricane Helene exposed vulnerabilities in Asheville’s infrastructure, Asheville’s affordable housing, and Asheville’s climate crisis preparedness.

The strength of our community, from neighbors helping neighbors, partner organizations, volunteers, first responders, and city/county/state partnerships, showed that we can come together to provide for one another.
